# Microsoft Lync Monitoring

The ServicePilot Microsoft Lync Monitoring package monitors Microsoft Lync 2010 servers.

The Microsoft Lync Monitoring package configures the ServicePilot Agent to obtain Microsoft Lync 2010 performance details using WMI. Details collected depend on the services running on the server:

  • System information
  • CPU, Memory, Process and Disk utilization and performance
  • Network interface statistics
  • Process performance and service status
  • Application Service Role statistics
  • Archiving Service Role statistics
  • A/V Conferencing Role statistics
  • Edge Role statistics
  • Mediation Role statistics
  • Monitoring Role statistics
  • Users Service Role statistics
  • Web Service Pole statistics

  • The ServicePilot Agent must be installed directly on the target server. It needs to run under an account with local administrative privileges. The ServicePilot Agent uses the local system account by default which has these privileges.

  • Network Flows - It is is necessary to ensure network connectivity between ServicePilot and the monitored device. In case of a network infrastructure using a firewall, the port below must be opened:

    • ServicePilot Agent installed on target machine:
      • ServicePilot Manager Web server access (by default TCP/80 when using HTTP or TCP/443 when using HTTPS although this port is configurable): Between ServicePilot Agent and ServicePilot Manager
  • ServicePilot Requirements

    • ServicePilot Manager minimum version: 8.5
    • ServicePilot Agent minimum version: 8.5 installed and configured

Before adding a resource to monitor, make certain that all pre-requisites are in place and if a ServicePilot Agent is required, that it is communicating correctly with the ServicePilot Manager.
