What is Remote Desktop Gateway?
Microsoft Remote Desktop Gateway is a service provided by Windows Server that allows authorized remote users to connect to resources within a private network over a secure channel. It acts as a bridge between remote desktop clients and the private network, so that connections are authenticated, encrypted, and routed through a secure tunnel.
How to monitor Remote Desktop Gateway?
ServicePilot makes it easy to monitor Remote Desktop Gateway requiring minimal configuration on the target Windows machine. A resource of the user-rd-gateway package then needs to be added via the ServicePilot web interface.
The statistics gathered in this way include:
- Total Time Connected: Number of minutes user is connected
How to install a rd-gateway resource?
- Use your ServicePilot OnPremise installation or a SaaS account.
- Add a new rd-gateway resource via the web interface (
/prmviews
or/prmresources
) or via API (/prmpackages
page), the default ServicePilot agent or another agent will be provisioned automatically.
Details of the rd-gateway package are located in the
/prmpackages
page of the software.
