What is EMC Data Domain?
Dell EMC Data Domain is a line of storage systems designed for data protection and disaster recovery, developed by EMC Corporation (now part of Dell Technologies). This type of storage array aims to provide high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Some features of EMC Data Domain include Petabyte-scale storage, redundancy and replication as well as virtualized environments support. It enables fast, efficient backup and recovery through its integrated variable-length deduplication technology.
EMC Data Domain monitoring
ServicePilot makes it easy to monitor EMC Data Domain. Simply configure the SNMP interface of the EMC Data Domain. Then use the ServicePilot web interface to add a resource from the ServicePilot storage-emc-datadomain package.
This package monitors the EMC Data Domain server software status and captures events sent by the system. The monitoring statistics gathered in this way include:
- System status
- Disk status
- Power Supply status
- Temperatue status
- Fan Status
ServicePilot receives notifications for Data Domain events via SNMP traps, for which error type events are given a minor status.
How to install a emc-datadomain resource?
- Use your ServicePilot OnPremise installation or a SaaS account.
- Add a new emc-datadomain resource via the web interface (
/prmviews

) or via API (/prmpackages
page), the default ServicePilot agent or another agent will be provisioned automatically.
Details of the emc-datadomain package are located in the
