What is Huawei OceanStor?
Huawei OceanStor is a range of storage solutions designed by Huawei to deliver high performance, strong reliability and unified data management. It includes hybrid and full-flash arrays capable of supporting demanding workloads (virtualization, databases, cloud) thanks to a redundant architecture, NVMe/Flash technologies (notably in the Dorado models) and advanced data-protection mechanisms (RAID 2.0+, instant snapshots and clones, synchronous and asynchronous replication, etc.).
OceanStor supports a wide variety of protocols and use cases: SAN (FC, iSCSI), NAS (NFS, SMB), object storage depending on the model and seamless integration with VMware, Hyper-V, databases and critical applications.
How to monitor Huawei OceanStor?
The ServicePilot Huawei OceanStor package is designed to monitor a storage array from the OceanStor range, including Dorado 5xxx models, using SNMP.
This package automatically configures the ServicePilot Agent to collect the essential metrics exposed by your Huawei OceanStor array on which the SNMP service has been installed and configured.
The monitoring statistics gathered in this way include:
- Overall system status, fans, power supplies
- Storage controllers
- Nodes and LUNs
- Physical disks and storage pools
How to install a huawei-oceanstor resource?
- Use your ServicePilot OnPremise installation or a SaaS account.
