What is Efficient IP SOLIDserver DDI monitoring?
Efficient IP SOLIDserver DDI suite is designed to deliver highly scalable, secure and robust virtual and hardware appliances for critical DNS-DHCP-IPAM services.
SOLIDserver DDI monitoring
This package is designed to monitor a SOLIDserver DDI appliance using SNMP.
This package automatically configures the ServicePilot Agent to collect statistics from the SOLIDserver DDI appliance on which the SNMP service has been installed and configured. The statistics gathered in this way include:
- System:
CPU and Memory
utilization - Storage:
Logical Disk
utilization (Optional) - Network:
Interface
status and utilization (Optional) - Service: Status and utilization (Optional)
Requirements
Network Flows - It is necessary to ensure network connectivity between ServicePilot and the monitored device.
- UDP/161 (SNMP): Between ServicePilot Agent and SOLIDserver DDI appliance
- ICMP/Echo Request (Ping): Between ServicePilot Agent and SOLIDserver DDI appliance
- UDP/162 (SNMP Trap): (Optional) Between your SOLIDserver DDI appliance and ServicePilot Agent
Third Party Configuration
- SOLIDserver DDI appliance installed and configured to accept queries from the ServicePilot Agent
Installation
Before adding a resource to monitor, make certain that all pre-requisites are in place.
Follow the documentation to add a resource to ServicePilot.
Key field notes
General tab:
- IP address/FQDN: specify the IP address, host name or FQDN for the server, as resolvable by the machine on which ServicePilot Agent is running
- ICMP Ping: Include ICMP Ping reachability and latency
- Interfaces: obtain network interface status and utilization details
- Interface Filter: include only network interfaces with network connection names matching this pattern. If the first character of this field is a ! then exclude interfaces instead. The field is a | separated list of interface network connection names with * wildcard characters allowed. If the pattern starts and ends with / then this field is a regular expression instead.
- Filesystems: obtain filesystem utilization details
- Mountpoint Filter: Include only filesystems mounted with names matching this pattern. If the first character of this field is a ! then exclude filesystems instead. The field is a | separated list of mountpoint names with * wildcard characters allowed. If the pattern starts and ends with / then this field is a regular expression instead.
**Note:**
Each element name in the list is a regular expression as defined by Like Operator (Visual Basic)Monitored Services tab:
- Apache: Include Apache service counters
- IPM Server: Include IPM Server service counters
- Database: Include Database service counters
- DHCP: Include DHCP service counters
- DHCP MS: Include DHCP MS service counters
- DNS: Include DNS service counters
- NTP: Include NTP service counters
- TFTP: Include TFTP service counters
Processes tab:
- Specified Processes: Monitor individual process CPU and memory usage
- Processes: Processes to monitor. One process definition per line and each line with the following format: processname, alias, parameters, run path
In the Policies tab, specify the policy or policies to apply to the resource
