How to monitor CISCO CBQOS network devices

Monitor CISCO CBQOS

What is Cisco CBQoS ?

Cisco Class Based Quality of Service, often called Cisco CBQoS, was created by Cisco Systems to divide traffic into classes and offer different throughput and packet loss levels and thresholds when congestion occurs.

Cisco CBQoS monitoring

This package is designed to monitor Cisco Class Base QoS efficiency on a Cisco router using SNMP.

This package automatically configures the ServicePilot Manager to collect statistics from the Cisco Router on which SNMP Service has been configured.

The statistics gathered are ClassMap, Policy Statistics and Queuing statistics which are detailed per Class of service for each interface.

Requirements

  • SNMP Service must be configured (Security: read-only SNMP community and allowed host must be set) and started on the targeted machine.

  • Network Flows - It is necessary to ensure network connectivity between ServicePilot and the monitored device.

    • UDP/161 (SNMP): Between ServicePilot Agent and Cisco Router
    • UDP/162 (SNMP Trap): (Optional) Between Cisco Router and ServicePilot Agent
