What is SNMP Linux Server monitoring?

Simple Network Management Protocol, often just called SNMP, is a protocol that allows IT administrators to manage equipment and diagnose problems.

System administrators and Performance Engineers can gather metrics from a Linux or *nix Server using SNMP.

Linux Server SNMP monitoring

This package is designed to monitor a Linux Server using SNMP.

This package automatically configures the ServicePilot Manager to collect statistics from the Linux Server on which the SNMP service has been installed and configured. The statistics gathered in this way include:

  • System: CPU and Memory utilization
  • Storage: Logical Disk utilization (Optional)
  • Network: Interface status and utilization (Optional)

The Linux Server (SNMP) package supports all distribution which allow access to RFC1213-MIB and HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.
