What is a .NET process?
A .NET process (DotNet Process) is an instance of a running .NET application. When a .NET application is executed, the operating system allocates processor time to the process, allowing it to perform its tasks.
Each .NET process is uniquely identified by its process identifier (PID). .NET processes are fundamental to the operation of .NET applications. Monitoring .NET processes can provide insights into application performance and resource usage, helping to ensure optimal operation and identify potential issues.

How to monitor a .NET process?
ServicePilot makes it easy to monitor a .NET process requiring only the installation of a ServicePilot Agent on the target server. With the simple addition of an auto-provisioning rule, ServicePilot will automatically detect, instrument processes with an APM library and provision the necessary appmon-dotnet resources to monitor performance counters of .NET processes.

- GC collection counts per generation (0, 1 and 2)

How to install a dotnet resource?
- Use your ServicePilot OnPremise installation or a SaaS account.
- Add a new dotnet resource via the web interface (
/prmviewsor/prmresources) or via API (/prmpackagespage), the default ServicePilot agent or another agent will be provisioned automatically.
Details of the dotnet package are located in the
/prmpackagespage of the software.
