What is Call Quality by Zone Or Network?

The ServicePilot Call Quality by Zone Or Network package configures the ServicePilot Agent with general configuration parameters used across all VoIP packages.

Call Quality by Zone Or Network monitoring

The Call Quality by Zone Or Network package configures the ServicePilot Agent with Call Quality Statistics configuration parameters. One Call Quality by Zone Or Network package is expected to be deployed per ServicePilot Agent.

Call Quality Statistics can be enabled:

  • By network subnet
  • By network zone

Statistics can also be split by vendor or all merged together.

Requirements

  • ServicePilot Requirements

    • One instance of the Call Quality by Zone Or Network resource must be imported per ServicePilot Agent deployed

Installation

Before adding a resource to monitor, make certain that all pre-requisites are in place.

Follow the documentation to add a resource to ServicePilot.

Key field notes

  1. General tab:
  2. Call Quality: Select the type of call quality monitoring, by Zone or Network
  3. Vendors: Select whether to aggregate the vendors in a single view or separate them in different views
  4. Zone file: Name of the Zone definition XML file sent from the ServicePilot Manager to the Agent. The source will be taken from the <WorkFolder>\Conf\VoIPAgent directory.

Note: If separate vendors used, you will need to import an additional resource voip-call-quality-by-network-view by vendor type deployed in your configuration

  1. In the Policies tab, specify the policy or policies to apply to the resource

Notes

If configuring a ServicePilot Agent to split Call Quality Statistics by network zone then a zone XML file defining the zones needs to be placed in the following location:

  • In the Conf folder for the ServicePilot Manager:

    <Work Folder>\Conf\VoIPAgent\VoIPAgent_Zones.xml

    The following example can be used as a template for the zone XML file defining your zones:

How to install a call-quality-by-zone-or-network resource?

  1. Use your ServicePilot OnPremise installation or a SaaS account.
  2. Add a new call-quality-by-zone-or-network resource via the web interface (/prmviews or /prmresources) or via API (/prmpackages page), the default ServicePilot agent or another agent will be provisioned automatically.

Details of the call-quality-by-zone-or-network package are located in the /prmpackages page of the software.
