What are Skype For Business Databases ?

Skype for Business VoIP environments include built-in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).

Depending on your Skype for Business pool design, there are couple of places that MSSQL databases are usually installed.

In the case of an Enterprise Edition Front end Pool, Master databases (called RTC) are installed on a dedicated SQL backend server and a read-only copy of the master is installed locally on each front end server (called RTCLOCAL). Some of the databases are hosted primarily on the backend like Monitoring, Archiving, Persistent chat.

A standard edition pool deployment the master XDS and the replica (copy) will be both hosted in the same server using SQL Express server.

How to install a skype-for-business-databases resource?
